Grado is one of Italy’s best areas for bike lovers. The flat areas boast a network of bicycle paths created for everyone in the family, curated by FIAB, the national association of cyclists.
The Ciclabile del Canale della Schiusa and Ciclabile degli Oleandri run through the Valle Cavanata and Foce dell’Isonzo natural reserves, and Grado is the final destination of the Ciclovia Alpe Adria, a 425 km path running through mountains and lagoons, from Salzburg to Udine, Palmanova, and Aquileia.
The 1.000 km Ciclovia Adriabike, starting in Slovenia’s Kranjska Gora and finishing in Ravenna, intersects it. Bike and bus, and boat and bus services are also available for cyclists.
